The Lecht 2090

Ski centre at 640m on the pass between Tomintoul and Strathdon in the Cairngorms, whose mountain bike trails reopened in summer 2026 after several seasons closed, rebuilt and rebranded around a bird theme. Lapwing Loop is an easy green for families, Curlew Cruise a flowing blue for riders 12 and over, and Peregrine Plunge and Buzzard Bomb are two red descents, with a pump track and skills park alongside. Uplift is by the EasyLoop, billed as the first system of its kind in the UK and booked online; the smallest kids' bikes can't use it and there is no bike hire on site. Trails run Wednesday to Sunday in summer only; the day lodge cafe, bar, shop and toilets stay open year-round as a snowsports resort in winter.
