Hanchurch Woods (Swynnerton Old Park)

Compact natural trail network on the Swynnerton Old Park estate just off junction 15 of the M6, south of Stoke-on-Trent. Around 10km of rider-built singletrack winds through the trees with long climbs and technical descents over roots, sand and loose ground; linking it with the estate's fire roads and bridleways builds an 18km loop with about 260m of climbing. The trails are informal and unwaymarked, so load a GPX before you go, and expect deep mud from autumn through spring. Free parking at the Hanchurch Hills picnic site on the A519 (ST4 8SN). Hosts rounds of the Midlands XC Series and the Midlands Championships.
