Greystoke Forest

Large area of woodland near Penrith on the eastern edge of the Lake District with miles of cycling and walking trails. Popular with mountain bikers for diverse landscapes, dense woodland and rolling hills with significant elevation change — climbs and descents range from forest tracks to challenging singletrack. The Cockpit Stone Circle loop from Hutton (around 50km) is a classic difficult outing with views to Ullswater.
